Observed & user tested (for more than 5 minutes) by GEAR SNOBS & DESIGN PEDANTS!
Lets get it straight from the outset okay!? ..i'm not a gear snob but on the flip-side I do like to buy an item once & once only wherever possible & carry those items in the knowledge that they come up to scratch time & time again year in year out!
In a world of "buy, use & break" the throw-away mentality makes me bang my head in disbelief, ..clutter, wasted resources, landfill, dubious recycling, ..the list go's on.
I appreciate there is often "cheaper" available, which sometimes can actually be better, so let's seek those out & sing the praise of the worthy!
This won't be Brand bashing nor gushing brand favouritism (manufacturers & distributors goods welcomed .. most notably outdoor kit).
great product invariably means great after-service, & you don't realise this till you need help the most, so we cover the long term not simply whilst something is "shiny-shiny shiny"
Cost, ..is relevant to us all, the sale should be made having asked yourself questions as to use (beyond mere marketing & your own aspiration) followed by research ..for which the internet is made for but often misleading.
After a year of seeking information for a simple day to day item, I decided enough is enough, & whilst not necessarily testing to point of destruction, hope all my kit would be of use to see out any impending zombie apocalypse in relative comfort.
I'll start with what I use & often abuse... & occasionally add to them, this is a slow burn review scenario, not the gadget show!
